L’Office du Jèrriais

L’Office du Jèrriais is the organisation responsible for promoting and teaching Jersey’s traditional language, Jèrriais, ensuring its preservation for future generations.

Through educational programmes in schools, adult classes and cultural initiatives, the organisation plays a vital role in keeping the language alive. Jèrriais is an important part of Jersey’s heritage, used historically for storytelling, poetry and everyday communication.

By combining education, promotion and community engagement, L’Office du Jèrriais continues to strengthen the presence of the island’s native language.
