Genuine Jersey Member Becomes First in the Channel Islands to Receive Prestigious Horticultural Fellowship.

Genuine Jersey is celebrating the outstanding achievement of one of its Members after Matt Bartlett, owner of Jersey Fine Tea, became the first person in the Channel Islands to be  awarded a Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Horticulture (FCIHort). 

The Fellowship, one of the profession’s highest honours, was awarded following unanimous  approval by the Institute’s Council of Trustees. The assessment panel described Matt’s  nomination as exceptionally strong, highlighting the significant impact of his work and the  breadth and quality of the references submitted in support of his application. 

Already recognised as the Channel Islands’ only Chartered Horticulturalist, Matt’s latest  accolade further cements his reputation as one of the region’s leading horticultural  professionals. 

Reflecting on the award, Matt said: “It’s a genuine privilege to become the first chartered  person in the Channel Islands to be awarded a Fellowship of the Chartered Institute of  Horticulture. I hope the recognition also reflects positively on the strength of horticulture  within the island and the many people and organisations I have had the privilege to work  alongside throughout my career. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to  support my nomination.”

Matt’s achievement marks another  significant milestone for both Jersey Fine Tea and the Island’s horticultural sector, providing  national recognition for the expertise that exists within Jersey’s growing community.
