Genuine Jersey markets return to St Aubin this weekend

Date: 11/04/2018 | Posted by John Garton

The celebrated Islands’ Genuine Jersey Markets return to St Aubin on Saturday, offering visitors and locals a variety of local crafts, produce and entertainment.

The artisans’ markets, which are sponsored by insurance company Islands will feature some of Jersey’s most talented producers, artists and craftspeople. 18 stallholders will be displaying their wares, many of which are handmade and homemade.

This weekend, visitors to the market can browse the sustainable, handmade furniture of Jersey Organic Yurts, feast on wood-fired pizza from The Good Stone and purchase the latest prints from popular illustrator Lauren Radley, among other stallholders. Musical entertainment will be provided by Kevin Pallot from 11 am-12 pm.

The markets will be held monthly throughout the summer in St Aubin, creating a lively atmosphere in one of Jersey most scenic locations.

Genuine Jersey Chief Executive John Garton said: “We have devoted a lot of time to making this year’s markets more vibrant than ever before. With new members having joined the Genuine Jersey fold, there is the chance to purchase new exclusive produce and to discover creative ventures new to the Island.

“We are thrilled that Islands have kindly sponsored these markets again this year. They are a long-standing sponsor member of the Association and understand the importance of giving small local businesses a helping hand. I hope that everyone will embrace our local producers and support the local economy by paying visit to these markets.”

Islands has been supporting Genuine Jersey members with tailored insurance cover since 2009, ensuring members can obtain the public liability insurance necessary to host a stall at markets and craft fairs at the lowest rate.
